Zoho CRM Workflows Can Now React to a Single Line Item
Workflow rules in Zoho CRM can now trigger directly from a subform row being added, changed, or removed, not just from changes at the module level. If a specific line-item change should always trigger a notification or update, that's no longer something to build around.
Workflow rules in Zoho CRM used to stop at the module level. Changing a line item inside a subform, like a product row on a deal, never triggered anything on its own.
That's changed. A workflow rule can now fire directly from a subform row being added, changed, or removed, with conditions checked at both the row and the parent record, and actions that update the row, the parent, or a linked record all at once.
What changed
A subform is a table of line items inside a record, like products on a deal or invoice, each with its own fields. Previously, workflow rules could only react to changes at the parent record level.
Now, a subform row being added, changed, or removed can trigger a rule directly, with conditions checked at both the row and parent record level, and actions that can update the row itself, the parent record, or a linked record.
Why it matters
This happens more than you'd think. Teams end up doing this kind of update by hand, or building a workaround function, because the trigger they actually needed didn't exist at the row level until now.
If a specific product, quantity, or line-level change should always trigger a notification or update somewhere else, that's no longer something to work around.
